For mild to moderate gum problems non/ surgical procedures such as scaling and root planning are used to deep clean the gums. If periodontal disease has progressed, then the need for minor surgery to address the loose pockets is considered. An alternative less invasive option is to use a Nd: YAG Laser to correct the loose pockets. Advanced gum disease can lead to damaged gum tissues and surrounding bone loss. This can be corrected or reversed by performing regenerative procedures like bone grafts, gum grafts and gingival tissue stimulating treatments.
